1. Who we are
Salim Technologies inc. (“we”, “our”) operates salimtechnologies.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, where it goes, and what your rights are.
2. Person responsible for the protection of personal information
Under Quebec’s Law 25, the person responsible for the protection of personal information at Salim Technologies inc. is: Salim Shibari, founder. For any question or request regarding your personal information: legal@salimtechnologies.com
3. What we collect
Pricing grid request form (Pricing page): your email address, the language of the page you were on, the time of the request, and your answer to the “you may follow up” box. We use these to know who is interested in our services and, if you ticked the box, to follow up — an agreement you can withdraw at any time by writing to us. The PDF link appears on screen immediately: no automated email is sent to you, and your address is added to no mailing list. It is stored in no database — it reaches us as an email notification.
Contact form (bottom of the home page): your name if you give it, your email address, the subject chosen from a list, the message you write, the language of the page, the time of submission, and confirmation that you ticked the consent box. This information is used solely to reply to you, and the ticked box is your consent to that use — you can withdraw it at any time by writing to us. No automated acknowledgement is sent — a person answers. It is stored in no database: it arrives as an email in the inbox of the person named above.
Server technical logs. Our host, Vercel, automatically records for each request your IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page, and the time. These logs are used for diagnostics and security. We link them to no profile and do not use them to identify you. They are kept by Vercel, whose processing infrastructure is outside Quebec — see section 7.
Form submission limit. To prevent abuse, your IP address is held in memory for a few minutes, long enough to count recent submissions. It is written to no file and expires on its own.
Audience measurement. We use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights on nine of the site’s twelve pages — neither the error page nor the two business-card pages. They measure page views, general referral source, and display speed, with no cookies, no advertising identifiers, and no profile that follows you across sites. None of this data is sold.
Direct email. If you write to us, the content of your message and any contact details it contains.
Within a service engagement. The information necessary to carry out the engagement, as defined in the applicable services agreement.
We do not collect sensitive information (health, ethnic origin, orientation, etc.) through the site, unless you volunteer it in a message.
4. Why we collect it
- To answer your requests and communicate with you
- To carry out the service engagements agreed with our clients
- To protect the site against automated submissions and abuse
- To understand the general use of the site and improve it
- To meet our legal and tax obligations
We collect only what is necessary for these purposes, in accordance with the minimization principle set out in Law 25. Your information serves nothing else: no resale, no newsletter, no advertising profiling.
5. What we stopped collecting
Until 5 September 2026, the notification produced by the contact form also carried your IP address and the page you were writing from. We no longer collect them: the surest way to protect a piece of information is not to collect it. That is the minimization principle of Law 25, and we chose to remove those two items rather than declare them.
6. What this site does not do
- No cookies, and nothing is stored in your browser
- No remote fonts — they are served from our own domain, so your visit is signalled to no third party
- No tracking pixels, no ad networks, no social buttons
- No visitor database
- No automated acknowledgement emails
7. Where your information goes — outside Quebec
This has to be said plainly: what you send us through this site leaves Quebec.
- Page hosting — Vercel, in Montreal (Canada)
- Form processing — Vercel, in the United States (Washington region)
- Email notification delivery — Resend, in the United States
- Inbox — Microsoft 365, in Canada — important detail in the paragraph below
- Audience measurement — Vercel, in the United States
In practice: when you submit a form, your message is processed by a server located in the United States, then handed to a US email delivery service, before arriving in our inbox. Along that path, the data is subject to the laws of the country it is in, which may differ from Quebec’s.
About the inbox. Emails and documents we receive are hosted by Microsoft in its data centres in Canada, which may be located outside Quebec (Toronto or Quebec City, with no guarantee). Spam filtering, which processes every incoming email, carries no residency commitment from Microsoft.
We choose providers that offer contractual confidentiality and security commitments, and we limit what is sent to them to the strict minimum. If you would rather your information did not leave Quebec, write to us directly at contact@salimtechnologies.com instead of using a form — your email then follows your own provider’s path.
8. Sharing with third parties
We never sell your personal information. It may be shared only:
- with the providers named in section 7, necessary to operate the site, bound by confidentiality obligations;
- if required by law.
Third-party AI tools: within certain engagements, Salim Technologies inc. may use third-party AI services (for example, language model APIs) to process information in carrying out an engagement. Where that applies, the precise terms (which data, which provider, which safeguards) are agreed with the client concerned in the services agreement. No site content, form submission, or visitor email is sent to an AI service.
9. Retention
We keep your personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by applicable law (notably tax law), after which it is securely destroyed or anonymized.
- The two site forms feed no database. Everything arrives in the inbox of the person named above as an email, and is deleted like any email — write to us and it is done.
- Emails you send us directly are kept in the inbox for as long as the relationship warrants, then deleted — write to us and it is done.
- Technical logs are kept for 1 day by our host — Vercel, Pro plan — then automatically deleted.
- The IP address held for the submission limit expires within minutes and is never written to disk.
- Audience measurements are aggregated: they are tied to no individual and cannot identify you. They are kept by Vercel under the terms of that service.
10. Your rights
Under Law 25 and applicable laws, you have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- have inaccurate, incomplete, or ambiguous information corrected;
- withdraw your consent to its use, subject to our legal obligations;
- request de-indexing or cessation of dissemination of certain information, in the cases provided by law;
- file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec if our answer does not satisfy you.
To exercise these rights or bring a complaint to us, write to the person responsible named above. We reply in writing within 30 days of receiving your request, as the law requires.
11. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure: encrypted communications with the site (HTTPS enforced), a strict content security policy, and secure access and password management.
12. Privacy incident
In the event of a privacy incident presenting a risk of serious harm, we will notify the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec and the individuals concerned, in accordance with our obligations under Law 25.
13. Changes
This policy may be updated. The last revision date appears at the top.
